Why Did You Become a Dentist?

Before high school graduation, Dr. Sourlis was required to complete a two-week internship in a field of his choosing. He ended up spending time with a good family friend who happened to be a prosthodontist (a dentist who specializes in repairing and replacing teeth). This experience piqued his interest in dentistry, and he continued shadowing within the practice the following summer and numerous summers afterward. He got to see so many amazing transformations firsthand, and this ultimately motivated him to become a dentist.

Dr. Sourlis attended the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated from the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine.
